Description

An interesting restored neighborhood

Surprisingly enough, Bercy Village is often considered the “faux French village in the heart of Paris.” It’s located near the Parc de Bercy and the Seine. It’s quite popular for its architectural structures, retail items and late 19th Century wine warehouses.

In 1990 the city of Paris set up a competition to see who could develop a program that could essentially redevelop this area. They wanted to restore the small wine warehouses that had so much character, but needed so much work. The projects were a success and this lovely area has been restored complete with street covered awnings designed to protect shoppers from the weather.
