Description

A museum archiving all things movie related

La Cinematheque Francaise is one of the largest movie related museums in the world. Featured there are archives of films, movie documents, and other film related objects from the earliest movie eras. Impressive collections and displays will thrill movie buffs who have a hunger to learn more.

A good deal of what is on display at La Cinematheque Francaise came from Henri Langlois in the 1930s. He had a passion to collect and preserve films and even at that time, his was one of the largest in the world. When the Germans invaded France, they tried to destroy many of the films, but not before Langlois and friends smuggled them into unoccupied areas of France.
