Description

Victor Hugo, the renowned novelist and poet, resided in Hôtel de Rohan-Guéménée, which overlooks a stunning Parisian square, from 1832 to 1848. One year after his novel Notre Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) was released, Hugo moved into this apartment. During his time there, he finished writing Ruy Blas. The museum located in the townhouse, with Hugo's personal drawings and portraits, is to undergo a series of renovations and open up a new cafe. It is projected to re-open in June 2020.
