Description

Gustave Moreau's former studio is home to an impressive collection of 4800 of his paintings, drawings and sketches, all of which are heavily influenced by Symbolism – the literary movement of French writers such as Baudelaire, Verlaine and Rimbaud. Of particular interest is La Licorne (The Unicorn), which was inspired by La Dame à la Licorne (The Lady with the Unicorn) tapestry series in the Musée National du Moyen Âge. Unfortunately, the studio is not wheelchair accessible as there is no lift.
